Fiend is a rapper from New Orleans, LA. He was a member of Master P's legendary empire known as No Limit and the New York based rap group known as the Ruff Ryders. This is his second album and it was released in 1998 on No Limit Records. Production is done by Master P and Beats By The Pound which includes the likes of KLC, Mo B. Dick, Craig B, O'Dell and Carlos Stephens. The beats are an impressive array of street ballads and gangsta tunes. They are laced with multiple instruments and contain that infamous No Limit sound. Lyrics are on point as well. Fiend is known for his adrenaline fueled delivery and aggressive tone. He displays his skills on the mic with ease and also manages to spit very rapidly. Featuring artists on the album are UGK, Snoop Dogg, Master P, Mac, Soulja Slim, C-Murder, Mystikal, Mia-X, Silkk The Shocker, Magic, Big Ed, Full Blooded, The Gambino Family, The Sons Of Funk, Steady Mobbin', Prime Suspect, Kane and Abel. Overall the record contains many outstanding cuts from start to finish. The album was an instant hit and it garnered much success. It was later certified the platinum plaque in the year 2002.

DJ Hard is a rapper/producer from Bedford, TX. He has also resided in Kansas City, MO. He was a member of the Slick Muzik Click and this is his debut solo album. It was released in 1994 on Paulstarr Records. The banging production is done by DJ Hard himself. He compiled the tracks with excessive bass lines and also puts samples to good use. The beats can definitely bump in the trunk and they tend to be very enjoyable. The rhymes are especially reputable as well. They contain efficient word play and stay diverse through out the record. Overall the album sustains commendable content and it was certainly ahead of its time. Also all listeners should adhere to the warning printed on the album cover.

Al-D - 4 Da Green
Al-D is a rapper from Houston, TX. He is also regarded as one of the original members of the Screwed Up Click. This was the first album released by a member of the S.U.C. since the passing of Screw. It was released in 2001 on Reliant Entertainment. Production on the album is done by Double D of Wreckshop, Muhammad 2G, Blue Note and Chris Cooley. The beats can be easily described as top notch Texas funk. They contain some melodic hooks along with jamming synths and solid bass lines. Al-D's flow is unique in every aspect. He's been spitting hard since the mid 90's and he continued his assault on the mic on this album. Featuring artists are K-Rino of the South Park Coalition, Z-Ro, Trae, Botany Boys, Lil' Keke, 3-2, Yungstar, Mike D, Shorty Mac, South Park Mexican, Ronnie Spencer and Enjolie. The record also contains a seven minute tribute track to the late, great DJ Screw. All in all the album accumulates material that can be considered gratifying and it also earned Al-D the title, "The Lion Of The Screwed Up Click."

Witchdoctor is a rapper/poet from Atlanta, GA. He is also known as EJ The Witchdoctor. He's a first generation member of the collective known as the Dungeon Family. He is also the owner and operator of the independent record label, Dezonly1 Records. This is his debut album and it was released in 1998 on Interscope Records. The entire album is produced by the legendary team known as Organized Noize. The beats are a refine exhibit of crisp southern fried funk. They contain tons of gritty drums and heavy bass lines along with some thick guitar licks. Witchdoctor is known through out the southern region as a very talented vocalist. He spends most of his time sharpening and perfecting his skills as an emcee. He proves his lyrical genius on this album and certainly spits well roundly. The core content ranges from street life to spirituality as well as some racial and political matters. Guest appearances are made by Outkast, Goodie Mob, Cool Breeze, Big Rube, Phoenix, Heroine, Mr. DJ and Mook B. Overall the record is a prime example of genuine material delivered with energy and clarity. Witchdoctor went on to release six solo albums and even a book of poetry entitled, "The Diary Of The American Witchdoctor." Also the letters S.W.A.T. stand for Southwest Atlanta.

Bam - A Rough Nigga'z Bible Vol. II (Hell On Earth)

Bam is a rapper from Houston, TX. He is a member of the Killa Klan as well as the legendary South Park Coalition. This is the follow up to his debut album, "Pray At Will." It was released in 2000 on Beatbox Records. All the banging production is done by G-Rapp The General and Richard Johnson. They provide nothing but solid tracks back to back. Bam is known for his commanding and vicious delivery. His style of raw lyrics and rough rhymes has not changed much since his first album. Featuring guests are K-Rino, Z-Ro, Fakkulty, Top Dog, Lorenzo and Marolyn. Bam returned with a vengeance and delivered classic material, once again. Overall the record sustains explicit content all through out and it is definitely worth a listen.

Mojoe - Dirty Genes

Mojoe is a rap duo from San Antonio, TX. The meaning behind their name is that they are more than just the average joe. The group consists of rappers Tre and Easy Lee. This is their second studio album and it was released in 2008 on Straight Line Entertainment. All the production is done live and its handled by the Mojoe Family Band. That includes the likes of Cooley High and Funky Genius. They provide the group with smooth soul and funk influenced tracks derived directly from live instruments. The two rappers grace the tracks with their poetic rhyme schemes and original flows. They both hold the ability to catch a beat and they can easily go back to back. Guest appearances are made by Bavu Blakes, Money Waters, Lil' Ken, Rob Bass and Roger Blevins. The groups' trademark is their savvy unorthodox style which is incredibly difficult to emulate. Even though the album contains nothing but top quality music and lyrics, the duo still does not get the attention they deserve.

K.B. Da Kidnappa - Underground Legacy

K.B. Da Kidnappa is a rapper from the northside of Houston, TX. He represents from the neighborhood of Trinity Garden. He's known for his high adrenaline flow and aggressive delivery. He is a member of Street Military and the infamous Killa Klan. This album was recorded in 2006 on Lock Jaw Entertainment. It was only released overseas when he was touring Australia. Production is all original and its provided by Joe. The beats are mostly synthetic and are composed mainly with the electronic keyboard. All rhymes and flows are strictly from the top of the head. Dope freestyles are presented by K.B. and company. Featuring on the album is Rebirth, Enforcer and Grind Hog. Overall the record is incomparable to others on account of its all freestyle content. It is one that is a must have for any Street Military/Killa Klan fan. Kidnappa is currently working on his sophomore solo effort which is entitled, Black Mamba.

Pharoah is a rapper from the neighborhood of South Park in Houston, TX. He's a member of Street Military and he is also the founder of the notorious Killa Klan. He is known for his viciously raw vocal delivery and clever rhyme schemes. He displays exactly that through a live freestyle session with Beltway 8 Records. This album was released in 2004 on Beatbox Records but it was recorded much earlier. Also the Chopped N Screwed version was the only format released. Production along with all the effects are done by Mike Mo. He does an awesome job providing beats that easily bump in the trunk. Pharoah and members of the Beltway 8 Family grace the tracks and showcase their freestyle talent. Overall the eleven track record contains some stand out cuts and flows. The album was later marked as the last album Pharoah recorded before he was sentenced to fifty years in prison for attempted murder and armed robbery.

Wood is a rapper from Missouri City, TX. He's a member of the furious Half Dead Organization as well as the legendary Screwed Up Click. This is his debut solo album and it was released in 2000 on Straight Profit Records. Production is handled by Slack, Big Fed, Byrd, Eric Hollis and Rick Marcel. They provide the excellent up tempo beats with the use of many instruments. Tracks are strictly southern orientated and are definitely top notch. Wood has always presented himself as a very strong lyricist. He is known for his excellent tongue twisting ability as well as his fast paced rhymes. Although his delivery has slowed down a tad bit since the mid nineties, he still manages to spit pretty quickly. Featuring artists are Z-Ro, Trae, Dat Boy Grace, Lil' Flex and the Straight Profit Block Bleeders that includes the likes of Den Den, Kool-Aid, Solo-D, Black-One, A.G., Bad Guy and Lil' James. Overall the record sustains great material, lyrically and production wise. The collaborations as a whole are noteworthy and entertaining. The entire album is put together quite brilliantly and it remains as a well polished gem in the underground.

UGK - Kingz 4 Life

UGK - Kingz 4 Life
The Underground Kingz was a legendary duo from Port Arthur, TX. They were also among the few pioneers of the genre known simply as, Southern Rap. The group consisted of phenomenal rapper, Bun B and his partner in rhyme who was also an excellent producer, Pimp C. This is an underground album and it is the early version of their album called "Dirty Money." It was never officially released on any label but was slated for a release date of the year 2000 for Jive Records. The project was later canceled and the group released the more revised and collectively improved version which is known as "Dirty Money," in 2001. This album contains a couple unreleased cuts along with some remixes that did not make it to "Dirty Money." Production, as always was done by Pimp C, himself. The beats are a perfect blend of smooth bass lines as well as Pimp's excellent choice of samples. Not enough can be said about the chemistry the two rappers use to have in between them. Their ability to trade flows and verses back to back was a feat indeed. They certainly provide that for the listeners on this record. Featuring artists are Too $hort, Kool Ace and 1 Gud Cide. Although the sound quality on some tracks suffers, it should still be looked upon as classic UGK material. The groups' final studio album is set to be released on March 31, 2009. Also, rest in peace to the late, great Pimp C.

Lil' Sin - Who Got Yo Back

Lil' Sin is a rapper from San Antonio, TX. He has been around since the mid 90's and he happens to be a very solid artist. He has collaborated with many legends from Texas and is well respected for his work. He debuted in 1996 with the record, "Frustrated By Death." This is his second album and it was released in 1998 on BLVD Records. Production on the album is handled by Pimp C of UGK, John Bido, Mike B., Suga Bear, Ant Banks, Finesse 1 and Ricé. The beats are top quality and are a display of true Texas funk. Smooth tracks are laced with genuine hooks and dope samples. Lil' Sin spits hard and his flow is on point. The rhymes contain decent amounts of word play and the content is straight gangsta. Featuring on the album is UGK, Mr. Joshay, King 13, Lil' Acid and Denise. Overall the record jams from start to finish and it helped establish him as an artist. Lil' Sin also goes by a new alias, Young Namar.

Dean is a rapper from Houston, TX. He is also affiliated with the South Park Coalition and he ended up being known for his devastating flow. This is his debut album and it was silently released in 2007 on Wreckless Entertainment. Production on the record is excellently done by Dope-E of The Terrorists. The beats exemplify every aspect of the southern region. They are laced with killer hooks along with equally dope samples. The lyrics alone set the album apart from others. Rhymes are full of controversial wisdom and prolific word play. They are delivered quickly and emphatically. Appearances are made by K-Rino, K.B. Da Kidnappa of Street Military, Point Blank, Dougie D of the Guerilla Maab, Dirty Red, D-T, Shonda, Russ G, Diesel, Badd Azz and Esincho. The whole album is put together very resoundingly and it can easily be labeled as one of a kind. Also, the significant content is superior to radio waves and can strictly be considered as one hundred percent underground.

D-Loc is a rapper from Houston, TX. He is also a member of the group called the Coughee Brothaz, which was formed by Devin The Dude. This is his debut solo album and it was released in 2007 Loccd Out Muzic. Production on the album is done by Blake Rogers and Jonathan Darty. The beats tend to be very smooth and are laced with funky instruments. D-Loc's flow is unique and his rhymes are laid back. The lyrics are strictly directed towards the hustling and struggling lifestyle. Featuring on the album is Scarface, Vicious of X-Mob, Devin The Dude, 2Real, Young Malice of The Product, K.B., John Brown The Rebel, Kerijames and TrA.T.L. Although the album contains great material ranging from the production, the lyrics and even the commendable cast of featuring artists, the record was released without any major hype and did not generate much success.
