Witchdoctor - ...A S.W.A.T Healin' Ritual

Witchdoctor - ...A S.W.A.T Healin' Ritual
Witchdoctor is a rapper/poet from Atlanta, GA. He is also known as EJ The Witchdoctor. He's a first generation member of the collective known as the Dungeon Family. He is also the owner and operator of the independent record label, Dezonly1 Records. This is his debut album and it was released in 1998 on Interscope Records. The entire album is produced by the legendary team known as Organized Noize. The beats are a refine exhibit of crisp southern fried funk. They contain tons of gritty drums and heavy bass lines along with some thick guitar licks. Witchdoctor is known through out the southern region as a very talented vocalist. He spends most of his time sharpening and perfecting his skills as an emcee. He proves his lyrical genius on this album and certainly spits well roundly. The core content ranges from street life to spirituality as well as some racial and political matters. Guest appearances are made by Outkast, Goodie Mob, Cool Breeze, Big Rube, Phoenix, Heroine, Mr. DJ and Mook B. Overall the record is a prime example of genuine material delivered with energy and clarity. Witchdoctor went on to release six solo albums and even a book of poetry entitled, "The Diary Of The American Witchdoctor." Also the letters S.W.A.T. stand for Southwest Atlanta.

The Calhouns - Made In The Dirdy South

http://c8b9fc83.linkbucks.com
The Calhouns is a group from Atlanta, GA. It consists of Cool Breeze, Swift C and Big L. The three members are also known as Freddy Calhoun, Pauly Calhoun and Lucky Calhoun. Members Pauly and Lucky were known as the Sniper Unit in the late 90's. Later on they added Cool Breeze to their line up and changed the name to The Calhouns. This group also holds membership in the second generation of the Dungeon Family. Made In The Dirdy South is their debut album and it was released in 2002 on Empire Music Werks. The crew behind all the production is Organized Noize along with Swift C. The imaginative beats are crisp flowing and cutting edge. They are mostly sample free and are arranged very infectiously. The lyrics is where the album falls a little short. Although their rhymes are not ground breaking, they are still pretty jubilant. Featuring on the record is Slimm Calhoun, Big Howg Major and Decatur's own KB. Overall it was a decent effort by the group but unfortunately there was not enough lyrical substance to take this album any further.

Sniper Unit - Burnt Up City

Sniper Unit is a group from Atlanta, GA. The two members are DJ Swift C and Big L. This dope album was released in 1996 on Ichiban Records. Production was mainly handled by Swift C and he did an excellent job. The beats are composed with some solid synths and samples. Both members can spit above average and are decent when they trade verses back to back. Featuring on the album is MC Breed, Cool Breeze, Backbone, T-Double, Hurricane and Sir Charles. Even though this record contains good material, it is still very slept on. The two members later returned in 2002 with the addition of Cool Breeze and their new alias, "The Calhouns."

Cool Breeze - East Points Greatest Hit

Cool Breeze - East Points Greatest Hit
Cool Breeze is a rapper who represents out of East Point in Atlanta, GA. He is also a 1st generation member of the legendary, Dungeon Family. East Points Greatest Hit is his debut album and it was released in 1999 on Interscope Records. Production is done by the one and only Organized Noize along with Mr. DJ. The beats are extremely well crafted and are multi-layered with live instruments. The production team never disappoints and lays out the perfect platform for the artist. Breeze's delivery is very fresh and distinct. His profound lyrics showcase large amounts of clever word play while also being light on the ears. Featuring on the album is Outkast, Goodie Mob, Eightball, Kurupt, Witchdoctor, Sleepy Brown, Backbone, Nivea and The Calhouns. Although Breeze made numerous appearances for his label mates, this happens to be the only record released by him and it seems to be very promising both lyrically and musically.
